How to swim

Swimming lessons haven’t changed much in the last hundred-some years… until now.

Aquarex preSwim© and safeSwim© are based on our natural human reflexes which protect us from drowning and falling. These are normal involuntary protective reactions, not fears. We aren’t born aquatic animals so the sensations of submerging, floating, and moving through the water should be integrated with new reflexes before we learn the strokes.

We learn to feel safe and comfortable in the pool in three steps: first comes breathing, then floating, then propulsion. Each step brings the next.

Your instructor will patiently help you replace what is often mistaken for “fear” with fun by using simple exercises at your pace, in your time.

Only after you can relax and move calmly in the water will you start the next phase, which is learning the swimming strokes, but again at your pace, in your time. And not necessarily competitive swimming, but the kind of aquatic adaptations you want for your vacation to Hawaii, your fishing trip, your fitness, your children or grandkids’ safety… whatever!
